Biography

Julie Trepanier is a 23 year old student currently enrolled in Ontario College of Art & Design's bachelor of fine arts photography program. She loves taking portraits as well as dabbling into photo-journalism while writing in depth captions and creating outlets to life's general problems. Her work reflects a life time of childhood and adolescent troubles that seem to haunt her in her early adult life. This creates a tension with her sexuality, identity and struggles withing her relationship. Most personal works will address those issues. While working with photography as an outlet she is highly interested in social sciences like psychology, sociology and social anthropology.  She connects this to "wanting to understand her own mind." Each class and new term is one step closer to understanding the world and truly becoming a happy and influential human being.

She dreams of making a social change within young adults, adolescents in understanding their childhood trauma's and giving them a sense of understanding and compassion so that they know they are not alone.

She struggles in on going battles with depression and anxiety and uses these themes as guidelines to creating new and upcoming series.
